Every event is different, so we designed our space to be flexible. The Back Forty can be arranged for a more intimate crowd or to encourage conversation and grazing. With a full bar and well equipped kitchen, you can expect the highest quality meat and homemade sides that are hand picked for your crowd.
The Back Forty (Catering Commissary and Event Center), established in 2016 by Nick Mancy, grew organically from Nick’s former restaurant Shorty’s True American Roadhouse which he owned and operated for the previous 17 years. Nick’s catering business had outgrown the compact kitchen space of the restaurant, so The Back Forty originally was established to meet these growing catering demands and the need for more space for food preparation and storage. Shortly thereafter The Back Forty began hosting events at their location at 5215 Monroe, in addition to their off-site catering services that bring their great BBQ to the people of Northwest Ohio.
